Start a Chain
Whether you've been taught a recipe by somebody else 'passing it on' or you want to start your own chain, here are some handy tips for making it a success.
Tips
- Make a list of people you know that are local to you,
- Out of these, highlight who are likely to carry the chain on, who's going to be enthusiastic and willing to learn? (family and close friends should offer you their support),
- Keep a copy of the recipe to hand and spares to leave with your chain members,
- Agree to share the cost of the ingredients,
- Make an evening of it. Take it in turn to visit your chain members houses, 'Pass On' the dish and enjoy the rest of the evening together.
- Encourage your chain members to take photos or video and upload them to this site or our Facebook Group, this will prove that your chain is carrying on without you overseeing it constantly.
- Introduce a little competition to encourage your chain members. Compete by getting the most 'links' in your chain, cooking the most different types of dishes, taking the most photos or doing something exceptional to spread the word of the chain and campaign.
- Show off! That's right, tell everybody about your chain, show the photos and mention how great the food is - you'll be getting volunteers for your chain in no time!
